| Early varieties in the Fredericksburg area are usually ready for delicious eating around the first week in May. This year - 2010 - due to abnormal weather conditions, these ripened around mid-May. Later varieties continue to ripen sequentially throughout the summer with the last variety ending around the last week in September. |

February and March. Next year's peaches grow on this year's new wood, pruning to stimulate more growth. |

April. God's plan to insure continuation of the species is to produce too many peaches. |

As a tree can produce only so much fruit, farmer thins excess number to make fewer peaches that will be larger. |
